NCAA addresses Cam Newton's eligibility
Auburn University football student-athlete Cam Newton is immediately eligible to compete, according to a decision today by the NCAA student-athlete reinstatement staff. The NCAA concluded on Monday that a violation of amateurism rules occurred, therefore Auburn University declared the student-athlete ineligible yesterday for violations of NCAA amateurism rules.

Cam Newton, Nick Fairley Earn SEC Player Of The Week Honors
Auburn junior quarterback Cam Newton has been named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week and junior defensive tackle Nick Fairley has been named the SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Both players were recognized for their efforts during Auburn’s 28-27 come-from-behind victory at No. 9 Alabama that improved the Tigers' record to 12-0 and 8-0 in the SEC. Auburn trailed 24-0 in the second quarter before mounting the biggest comeback in a victory in school history.

Auburn No. 1 In October 24 BCS Standings
Cam Newton and Auburn blew by Boise State into first place in the BCS standings.
The unbeaten Tigers (8-0) vaulted from fourth to the top spot Sunday, putting the Southeastern Conference in line for a fifth straight appearance in the national title game.
Oregon (7-0) remained second, which works just fine for the Ducks because if they win out they'll likely play in the BCS title game in Glendale, Ariz., in January.
