Orlando Auburn Club

2009 Annual Scholarship Banquet and Silent Auction
Tuesday Evening, May 26, 2009 6pm - 9pm

The Orlando Area Auburn Club invites you to join us for our 2009 Annual Scholarship Banquet and Silent Auction.

This years event will be held at one of Central Florida's premier restaurant, Maison et Jardin. If you are not familiar with this venue, it is located on Wymore Road in Altamonte Springs and showcases a neoclassical architecture inspired by a mansion in the South of France dating back to the Roman times. Even though Maison et Jardin has been around since 1958, it now only utilizes its facilities exclusively for private events such as this one.

This years event is vital to our club as we are in our fourth year raising funds for our Endowment Scholarship Fund.  We have pledged as a club to donate $5,000 each year over a five year period to ensure that a local Orlando student has the opportunity to attend Auburn University despite rising out-of-state tuition expenses.  As local alumni we know it is our duty to encourage and enable the next generation to have the life-molding experiences that we all had at Auburn University.

Jeff Grimes
Offensive Line
We are very pleased to announce that our honored speaker will be the Auburn Tiger’s football Offensive Line Coach Jeff Grimes. Jeff Grimes, who served as the assistant head coach, running game coordinator and offensive line coach at Colorado the previous two seasons, is in his first year as offensive line coach at Auburn. A native of Garland, Texas, Grimes began his coaching career in 1993 as a high school coach at Riverside High School in El Paso. After two years as the offensive coordinator and line coach there, he moved on to the college ranks, first working as a graduate assistant at Rice (1995) and then at Texas A&M (1996-97). In one season at Boise State in 2000, Grimes' offensive line helped the Broncos lead the nation in scoring offense and accumulate 175 rushing yards per game. He and his wife, Sheri, have three children, daughter Bailey, and sons Garrison and Greydon.
